5 days out with dogs

Our recommendations for the best doggy days out in Cornwall!

Trelissick  (Feock, Truro)

Trelissick Park is a beautiful place to walk your dog, with 375 acres of woodland walks and open parkland to be explored.  Although dogs can’t go into the garden, they can run free in the woodland and take a dip in the small beach at the bottom! Plus there are doggy treats available from the Crofters cafe.

The South West Coast Path

With 630 miles of unspoilt coastline, the South West Coast Path boasts fascinating heritage, wildlife, geology and scenery.  Access to the path is just a few hundred yards from the Beach Houses at Towan Valley, giving our visitors access to some of the finest walks and coastal trails that Cornwall has to offer.  There are recommended walks and routes of differing lengths for all abilities, or you can simply head down to Porthtowan beach and decide which direction you want to take.

Perranporth Beach

Famous for its 3 miles of golden sands, Perranporth beach is a doggy heaven.  Enjoy a day at the beach relaxing, or get active and go surfing, snorkelling, sailing or swimming! Dogs are allowed on Perranporth Beach all year round, although we recommend dogs are kept on a lead during July and August from 10am – 5pm.

Tintagel Castle

Believed to be the birthplace of King Arthur, Tintagel is a magical dog friendly day out.  Dogs must be kept on leads, but it is well worth it to experience the dramatic views and fascinating ruins in this wonderful location.  When you have walked around the island, you can relax with a traditional cream tea at the castle’s beach cafe.

Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm

Home to Cornish Rattler and Cornish Scrumpy, the Cyder Farm is a fun day out, with free entry, free parking and (best of all) free tasting! Dogs are welcome at the Cyder Farm provided they are kept on a lead, and there’s a chance for them to make friends with the various farm animals onsite.  Please note, dogs are not allowed in the jam kitchen or the restaurant.
