Why we love Cornwall – and you should too!

There are so many reasons to love Cornwall, here are just a few...

Porthcurno

Beautiful beaches

It’s no secret that Cornwall is home to some of the best beaches in the UK.  In fact, 80% of this beautiful county is surrounded by sea, which makes for an impressive 476km of stunning coastline.   Some of our favourite beaches include Porthcurno, Gwithian, Watergate Bay and Perranporth, as they are all great for watersports, swimming and walking the dogs.

Milder weather

There’s no denying that the climate is milder here in Cornwall.  The winters are brief and amongst the warmest in the UK thanks to the influence of the Gulf Stream.   Plus, Cornwall is one of the sunniest places in the country, with over 1541 hours of sunshine a year! (Met Office).  Thankfully that means that Cornwall’s seas are the warmest in the UK, making for much nicer swimming conditions.

Outdoor adventures

With activities like surfing, kayaking, walking and cycling right on our doorstep, Cornwall is full of exciting outdoor adventures all year round.  If you’d like to explore the waters you can try your hand at sailing, surfing, paddleboarding or coasteering, and if you’d prefer to enjoy the water from the land you can explore the South West Coast Path or cycle along the Camel Trail, enjoying the views along the way.

Fantastic Food

There’s a reason why foodies love Cornwall.  We’ve got everything from Michelin star celebrity chefs, right down to local corner shops selling mouth-watering pasties or Cornish cream teas.  There are also frequent food festivals throughout the year, showcasing the best of the county’s local produce.  But at the end of the day, you can’t beat an ice cream on the beach.
