Truro – Visit the Cornish Capital

Tehidy Country Park

Tehidy is the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Now owned and managed by Cornwall Council as a Country Park, Tehidy has over 9 miles (14.5km) of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes to explore, together with a café and a picnic area.

Tehidy was formerly the estate of the Bassets, one of the four most powerful families in Cornwall with extensive lands and mineral rights in this western part of the county.

Visitors may stroll around the lake, explore leafy glades or wilder areas of woodland or be immersed in the rich flora and fauna. With a different type of beauty for every season, Tehidy is an enchanting place to visit all year round.

 

Healey’s Cyder Farm

Healey’s Cornish Cyder Farm is home to Cornish Rattler and the Cornish Scrumpy Co Ltd – Cornwall’s only distillery.  Named as ‘The Nation’s Favourite Farm Visit’ the farm shop offers free tastings of all its products and you can watch the team at work.

Healey’s is the largest Cornish Cyder maker in Cornwall and the only distillers making Cyder Brandy and Fruit spirits.  They produce over 40 varieties of delicious fruit products including farm scrumpy, sparkling cyder, country wines, jam, chutneys and spirits.

 

Newquay Zoo

The ATV Centre – Blackwater

When you arrive & ride at the ATV Centre you will be quad biking on the UK ‘s largest and best outdoor ATV track.  Whatever your age or experience you will be kitted up in full safety gear including elbow & knee pads, body armour, helmet, gloves and safety goggles. Then you will be taken to the learner circuit to be given expert tuition by experienced instructors.   Once on the main circuits you will be given a short safety briefing about the track rules and then sent out to enjoy your time. Track marshalls are appointed around the track to keep you safe while you experience the challenge and thrills of the ATV Centre.
