The Unicorn

A great destination for families, the Unicorn is in the heart of Porthtowan, close to the beach.  It has a kids play area and is celebrated for its freshly made pub food and friendly service.  A more traditional pub.

Moomaid of Zennor

This renowned family owned Ice Cream Parlour offers visitors over 30 flavours of icecream and sorbets.  The Parlour uses fresh milk from the family’s own Friesian dairy herd  in West Cornwall and either Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream or Double Cream (made just 3 miles from Porthtowan).

Tris Surf Shop

If you want to hire surf equipment or shop for surf clothing then Tris Surf Shop has everything you could possibly need.  It is based in the heart of the village, just 200 yards from the beach.

Blue Bar

One of the most celebrated bars in Cornwall and overlooking Porthtowan Beach, the Blue Bar is the perfect destination morning, noon or night as the sun sets.  With regular live music and a really relaxed and informal atmosphere, the Blue Bar is the perfect venue for combining stunning views with great food and drink.  Om addition to sitting out in the summer, the large bay front windows offer perfect viewing for winter storm watching.

Julia’s Driftwood

Whilst Julia Horberry doesn’t have a shop or art gallery in Porthtowan she does live in the village and creates wonderfully unique pieces of furniture made using driftwood washed up on the beaches and coves around Porthtowan.

Falmouth and Porthtowan Surf School

A visit to the spiritual home of Cornish surfing would not be the same without having a go for yourself.  And thanks to the Falmouth and Porthtowan Surf School that’s exactly what you can do, safe in the knowledge that their fully qualified and experienced staff will soon get you cruising on clean Atlantic waves.  The school provides transport to wherever the best waves are and all equipment including wetsuits and boards.

The Victory Inn

On the cliff top road heading out of Porthtowan you will find the Victory Inn.  Offering great views and a suntrap beer garden, the Victory Inn offers traditional ales  and a traditional menu in a great pub atmosphere.

Chapel Porth
