Dog Friendly Beaches

Check out our recommendations for the best dog-friendly beaches!

Cornwall is the ultimate holiday destination for dog owners.  With vast open spaces and exciting beaches, a holiday here is a treat for both you and your dog.  Say goodbye to your daily walk in the local park – and prepare yourself for a whole new walking experience.  Within just 10 miles of Towan Valley there are plenty of dog friendly beaches, including:

Perranporth

Trevaunance Cove

Chapel Porth

Porthtowan Beach

Portreath

Gwithian

Perranporth is a particular favourite with dog owners as it allows dogs all year round.

And if that isn’t enough, why not try the South West Coast Path just a few hundred yards from our Beach Houses? You and your pooch can choose between a stroll in the surf, a coastal path, a moorland walk or a woodland walk.

If all that walking gives you an appetite, there are also plenty of restaurants in Cornwall that welcome dogs.  Our favourite dog friendly eateries are Driftwood Spas in St Agnes, the Beach Hut in Watergate Bay and the Cornish Arms in Padstow.  You can see a longer list of dog friendly pubs and restaurants in Cornwall here.

Although Cornwall is a great place to visit with your dog, it can be hard to find dog friendly accommodation.  At Towan Valley we have a number of Beach Houses which are always available for dog owners.  We’re also open all year round, so you can choose when you’d like to bring your dog down on holiday.  Check out our range of dog friendly Beach Houses here!

Before planning a day out in Cornwall please consider what to do with your dog while visiting attractions which do not accept dogs.  Please do not leave your dog unattended in a vehicle, especially when it is hot outside.  During hot weather it is also recommended that you walk your dog in the early morning and late evening to avoid over-exertion.
