St Ives

St Ives

St Ives is arguably one of Britain’s favourite seaside towns. Also known as the jewel in Cornwall’s crown, St Ives has won an array of awards including best holiday destination and best UK seaside town.

With its golden beaches, attractive harbour and lush vegetation, St Ives is a holidaymaker’s paradise. Its beautiful light and pretty outlook have attracted artists to the area for centuries. It is now the go-to place for painters and sculptors from across the country, and is home to the famous Tate St Ives.

Historically a fishing community, St Ives was once commercially dependent on fishing for its livelihood. The decline in fishing in recent decades has given way to tourism which has seen the rise of small independent shops, galleries, restaurants and pubs.

St Ives is home to four stunning beaches which boast the UK’s mildest climate. Make sure Porthmeor, Porthgwidden, Harbour beach and Porthminster are on your list of places to visit next time you’re in Cornwall!
